Patrick De Roy

Patrick De Roy is Senior Managing Director, Total Portfolio & Capital Markets. He leads IMCO’s total portfolio and capital markets group, which includes active asset allocation, foreign exchange management, liquidity, leverage, trading activities and management of the public market alternatives and fixed income asset classes. He is also responsible for the design and implementation of IMCO Responsible Investing (ESG) strategy.
Patrick has more than 20 years of experience as a portfolio manager and investment advisor. Before joining IMCO in 2019, he was Head of Global Research at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ). Patrick led the expansion of the research function at CDPQ from a single asset class model (equity) to a global research function covering all asset classes, and was a founding member of the CDPQ’s Innovation Network, a group that evaluated new investment strategies across and between asset classes. He also led portfolio construction, economics, and currency management during his tenure at CDPQ.
Prior to that, Patrick was a Partner and Investment Practice Leader at Eckler Ltd. and has held senior management roles with other leading investment and consulting firms.
Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Laval University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, a CFA charterholder, a Financial Risk Manager and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst.
He has served on numerous industry and non-profit boards including CIRANO, an inter-university research centre, and CFA Montréal.
