Yi Wen (Jenny) Wang
Profile
Yi Wen (Jenny) Wang (RN, M.Ed, BScN) is a trained nurse and educator. She speaks English, French, and Mandarin. Jenny completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2019 and Master of Education in 2021 at McGill University. Her work integrates childhood ethics and art to foster children’s voices, ensuring that health resources are created with children, for children. Jenny is interested in examining the lived experiences of acute and chronically ill children using arts-based methods. The Scholarship Program will allow her to gain the plurality of perspectives needed to understand and develop solutions that address the complex sociopolitical influences affecting children’s well-being.
Jenny is currently a PhD Nursing student at McGill University. Her doctoral research will leverage virtual reality technology to develop an innovative educational curriculum for children's surgery via co-design and patient/stakeholder engagement. Jenny is also the Vice President of Education of the McGill Scientific Writing Initiative, a group that provides students with resources to communicate their research effectively and creatively. She runs educational workshops related to knowledge dissemination and mobilization. In her free time, you can find her snowboarding, making art, dancing at music festivals, or chatting with friends over a cup of coffee (or two)!
